www.trekseverest.com Himalayan Brothers Trek (P) Ltd The main festival of Lo-Manthang is the Tenji festival. Tenji is an abbreviated from of ‘Temba Chhirim’ which means “prayer for world peace”. This is a festival that is indigenous to Lo-Manthang and commemorates the victory of Dorjey Soman, an incarnation of the Buddha over the demon called Ma Tam Ru Ta, who wreaked havoc on humans in the forms of storms, floods and droughts. One monk stay in seclusion for three months prior to the festival to prepare for the rule of Dorje Sonam in the ritual dances. One of the third day of the ceremony, he defeats an effigy of the demon in a dance using with a anti attractive masks. Finally the demon will be feels happy as a relaxed sleepy drunk man. Than using the spiritual power of Guru Rimpoche, (Padma Sambhava), he kills and destroy the demon’s power. Finally sprays it’s blood out and shows the heart to the all humans, now our victory may comes. Tinji falls on the 27th -29th of the third month in the Tibetan calendar, which is in late April or early may every year of the 3 days grand ceremony of upper Mustang region.
Which is called the demon chasing festival as well. a long 260 meter red wall of Ghami Mustang shows the signs of red blood of the demons as a siring. A couple of day’s sight tour close to Lo-Manthang area, we find more than hundreds of caves, they called peace pray Mila Repa’s pray caves. Points out with the arts of Buddhist’s Mandala paints above the sirings. Few of them are more than 75 feet’s long. Some monasteries are found more oldest monastery in Nepal built in 14th century period in the upper mustang region.
Permits & Rules:
In order to visit Mustang, all trekkers currently need to pay US $ 50 per day for subsequent days. You must travel with a group sheared basis at least 2 person. In Jomson, Visit the check post and Tourist Department with your special permits, for a shot lecture on the rules of trekking in Mustang.

Day by Day Itinerary |
Day 01: Pokhara Katmandu- Pokhara by flight. Takes about 45 minutes on flight. Night held at Lakeside hotel
Day 02: Kagbeni 20 minutes fly to Jomsom from Pokhara and camping at Kagbeni after 3 hours from Jomsom.
Day 03: Chuksang Camping at Chuksang.
Day 04: Samar
Day 05: Ghiling
Day 06: Dakmar
Day 07: Lo-Mangthang
Day 08: Lo-Mangthang Around King Palace, visit with the King and village around.
Day 09: Dhi
Day 10: Yara Ghara This day we visit the cave, Gompa of Yara (the oldest Gompa of Mustang) and back to Dhi for night.
Day 11: Ghami via Charang
Day 12: Samar
Day 13: Kagbeni Camping at Kagbeni
Day 14: Jomsom Last day of trekking final fun celebration.
Day 15: Fly to Pokhara / Kathmandu Same day Kathmandu or stay at Pkr.
Day 16: Final departure or Stay long.
