Opened to trekking in 1989, the Dolpo region is hard to match for its pristine beauty and rugged charm. Lying in the rain shadow area of the Himilaya, the landscape resembles that of the Tibetan Plateau instead of the lush green, monsoon watered hills, elsewhere in Nepal, at comparative altitudes. Pholksumdo Lake, Lower Dolpo Region Possibly the last sanctuary of Bon Po, a Shamanistic religion that pre-dates Buddhism, the home of rare Himalayan animals like the shy Snow Leopard, Tibetan Hare and the Himalayan Weasel it falls within the Shey-Phoksumdo National Park in western Nepal. Lake Phoksumdo, the Blue Lake, and the ancient monasteries in the villages aroud it are the focal point of a trip to this region. The Kanjiroba Himal provides a panoramic backdrop to complete the experience.

Dolpo Trek Located on the isolated corner of Trans Himalayan Zone Dolpo is a virgin and divine land in Mid-Western Nepal. Shey-Phoksundo National Park in the core of Dolpo Region is famous for snow leopard. A great Naturalist Rodney Jackson conducted his research on snow leopards in Shey Phoksundo area. The Dolpo is famous for deepest Lake Phoksundo in entire Himalayan Region. Mother Nature created a unique and wonderful treasurer like Dolpo, which is being the shelter of many rare alpine living beings. Inspite of tough trails and rugged topography journey to Dolpo area is a life time experience. Tourists rarely visit Dolpo Region and the trekking route is very narrow and steep at places, so good hiking Experience is essential for this trek. The altitude ranges from 2500m to 5070m.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival to Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 02 Kathmandu/Necessery preparation for trekking.

Day 03 From Kathmandu fly to Nepalgunj (260m).

Day 04 Fly Nepalganj –Juphal(2,350m)(25min)Trek Juphal –Dunai (2,150m).

Day 05 Dunai –Tarakot (2,900m).

Day 06 Tarakot –Chanki (2,900m).

Day 07 Chanki –Tarap Khola (3,200m).

Day 08 Tarap Khola – Rest / Acclimatise / Explore.

Day 09 Tarap Khola –Dho Tarap (4,040m).

Day 10: Dho Tarap – Numa Phedi(4,500).

Day 11 Numa Phedi – Numa Pass (5,190m) Baga Phedi (4,200m).

Day 12 Baga Phedi – Baga Pass (5,070m) Phoskundo Lake (3,600m).

Day 13 Phoskundo Rest/Explore.

Day 14 Trek to Saldang (4100m).

Day 15 Trek to Yang Tsser village (4300m).

Day 16 Trek to Karang ( 4100m).

Day 17 Phoskundo Lake – Roha Gaun (2,944m).

Day 18 Roha Gaun – Dunai (2,150m).

Day 19 Dunai – Juphal (2,350m).

Day 20 Fly Juphal – Nepalganj (25min).

Day 21 Fly Nepalganj – Kathmandu.

Day 22 Kathmandu – Rest /Sightseeing.

Day 23 Kathmandu – Depart to your destination.
