Dhaulagiri (8167 m), one of the world’s 6th highest mountain surrounding with close view of Mt. Annapurna 1st, 8091m. beyond wiht many other over 7000 m. high Snow peaks of the western beautiful Himalayan ranges are recovering in this region. There is a long, interested trek around Dhaulagiri round it starts form the sub-tropical forests of the Myagdi Chorepatan along with the valley. Follow the Mayangdi khola west wards to Darbang and turn north on a tiny trail that leads through forests into the high remote passes and glaciers of Dhaulagiri before reaching the Kali Gandaki Valley “which is the one of deepest gorge of the world”. much of the route is on snow and glaciers as it crosses French Pass (5240 m), travelse the head if Hidden Valley, and crosses 5155 m Dhumpus Pass which is called the hidden valley of the world as well. The trek ends with a steep descent to Marpha and a returns to Pokhara, either via the Kali Gandaki or over the Ghorapani ridge for a panoramic view of the entire Dhaulagiri Missif. Two routes are suggested for the return: Ghorepani-Poon Hill-Birethanti (total 28 days) or Tatopani-Beni- Baglung (22days). A shorter optional (18 days) is possible with a return flight from the Jomsom to Pokhara or Kathmandu. Because of the high altitude, this trek is recommended for trekkers with some physical training.
Special Rules:
The immigration office will issue Annapurna Conservation Area entrance fee Nrs 2000 per pax which is check by the national park office at Darbang, Jomsom, Tatopani, Ghorepani and Birethanti. It is recommended that only for groups coming through authorized agency, not for individual trekkers. Though indivisuals trekkers are not required to trek alone in this area while trek in unknown trails using with their own expereances, it may be happens problems or they may be losts in the higher route while crossing through the ice holes from the glacier trails.
